Most people will start the New Year with high hopes and expectations. As Christians, we base our high hopes and expectations on the Lordship of Christ and His will for our lives. The Hebrew writer said, “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith” (12:2). To realize our hope in Christ we must come to a place where our lives are truly centered in Him. “Looking to Jesus” is the way we live life. Living the Christian life is never easy, but it’s always worth it! The biblical call to “holy” living is reality when we are “wholly” committed. Remember “He is able to do exceedingly above and beyond all that we ask or think according to the power that works in us” (Eph. 3:20).
Pulpit Helps, with this issue, begins its 28th year. We remain solidly committed to the vision Dr. Zodhiates had twenty-eight years ago to provide sound biblical resources for the pastor and Bible teacher. Started as a print publication in 1975, today there is a print and electronic version.
Pulpit Helps online has been available for over three years now. On November 1, 2002 we took a major leap forward with an improved redesigned Web site! It has a new, friendlier interface, coupled with improved search capabilities, making it an even better tool for pastors and teachers in their sermon or lesson preparations.
In addition, many new features have been added. Share prayer requests, join in discussion groups on current articles and topics, and participate in polls about current issues. “Point of View” is a weekly update to current issues of significance.
We want to encourage readers to communicate with our editorial staff via email, by phone, fax, or letters to help us better serve you. Let us know your likes and dislikes and what we might do to make Pulpit Helps magazine and Pulpit Helps online more useful to you in your ministry.
Our hopes and expectations for Pulpit Helps in the New Year are high! To realize these hopes and meet expectations we must faithfully serve the Lord and better serve the needs of our readers.
Happy New Year from the staff of Pulpit Helps magazine!
