What place do I fill on the street where I live?
Do my actions each morn rise above
The grind of my dailies-do I want to give,
Does my life show a hint of Your love?
Am I there for the hurting, an ear that will listen,
A refuge and friendly retreat?
Do I flow with an elderly friend's reminiscin',
Encouraging, cheerful, upbeat?
Do I show myself willing to help out my neighbor
No matter how humble the task?
Am I ready to lend, or to spend time in labor
Although he's unwilling to ask?
