Praise & Prayer: Though for the first time the video/computer games industry has shown some signs of improvement-such as activation of a review council to police advertising-some elements are growing worse, according to thefifth Annual Report Card on Violence in Video and Computer Games. Daphnie White, with the Lion and Lamb Project, said some teen games are becoming as violent as the adult games. A game called Oni, for example, "makes you feel the violence, and you can hear peoples' necks snap," she said. Sen. Joe Lieberman, D-Conn., said the violence has progressed beyond killing. "(Video game characters) are being continuously shot at after they're obviously dead and being dismembered," he noted. "I don't know how we hope to raise children that love mercy by feeding them violence," commented Sen. Sam Brownback, R-Kan.
