Praise and Prayer

Pray: Christians in the country of Bhutan (a small country in the Himalayan mountains, bordered by India and Tibet) are facing escalated opposition and persecution, according to a report from D. Kitbok Ryntathiang, director of the Christian Academy in Shillong in northeastern India. His report indicates that when Christians came to church on Sunday morning, April 8, they were met by authorities and police who recorded their names. The police have interrogated a number of pastors in Bhutan, threatening them with imprisonment and demanding that church members stop witnessing. Authorities also have closed down some churches, especially those that rent their facilities from Buddhist landowners.
