God's Presence Does Not Make for Comfort

J. Galveston Doud, Sr. Pastor,

If God is present in our church, how could a lost person possibly feel comfortable in His presence? The biblical message to lost humanity has always been "repent," and a soul under Holy Spirit conviction is not a comfortable soul.

Also, you cannot mature in something you have not been brought into. The process described in this article produces proselytes, not converts. In so doing, we have damned these souls by providing them with a counterfeit faith. Even worse, what these people mature into are tares, which cause all kinds of problems within the church.

Editor's note: You have a valid concern. But the point of the article was that the unsaved should be uncomfortable because they are under conviction by the Holy Spirit, not because we make them feel out of place.
