Praise: Churches are multiplying in Ukraine, says Slavik Radchuk, Christian Aid Mission's field scout for Ukraine and the former Soviet Union. Radchuk said the number of evangelical churches in Ukraine in the last 10 years has multiplied six-fold. A decade ago 90 percent of churches in the country were Ukrainian Orthodox and just 10 percent were Protestant. Today government church registration figures published in the Ukrainian press indicate that Protestants hold 60 percent of the churches with Orthodox churches down to 20 percent and all other religions numbering 20 percent. In less than two years, evangelical Ukrainian church planters have started 75 congregations.
