Special to Pulpit Helps, first Montagnards Reaching New Homes

I saw your article in Pulpit Helps. I am a pastor and I work for a refugee resettlement agency in North Carolina and we are resettling 30 Montagnards. The 905 Montagnards mentioned in an earlier story are being processed to be resettled in North Carolina.

There are 600 men, 200 children and 100 women being processed for resettlement. Most of them will never see or speak to their families again.

This is just another example of an oppressive regime persecuting its people for their desire to be able to live their lives in peace and worship Jesus. The country of Vietnam has been extremely reluctant to issue exit visas to the families of those that wish to leave as well as those already resettled in North Carolina.

North Carolina currently has the largest population of Montagnards in the Western Hemisphere-over 3,000 in the western part of the state.
