Praise and Prayer

Praise: The Salvation Army in Portland, Maine, is standing by its refusal to fund benefits for homosexual employee-partners, despite a threat by the city that it will cancel $60,000 annual support. The Army uses the city funds to feed senior citizens. "At the end of the day you have to stand by your principles and we felt that we did that," said Salvation Army Capt. Richard Munn. He hopes to raise funds from other sources to keep feeding the seniors.
