Hebrew/Greek KeyWord Study Bible: New International Version, Spiros Zodhiates and Warren Baker, editors, 2009, 2,304 pages, $49.99, hardcover. AMG’s venerable KeyWord Study Bible indexes key terms in the English text to their Hebrew and Greek sources and provides a thorough dictionary of thousands of words in the original languages of Scripture to help readers better grasp the original meaning of the text and apply it to their lives. The 2009 NIV edition comes with more reference tools (including markings to indicate the tenses and grammatical structure of Greek verbs) and wider margins for better note-taking.

Making Disciples in Your Community: Coming Together to Grow in Christ, Barbara Henry, 2009, 144 pages, $14.99, softcover. Henry has put together an accessible study on the nature of Christian life and growth as a part of AMG’s Following God study series. The study guides readers out of isolated Bible study and into discipleship relationships through exposition of 2 Peter. Ideal for small group or Sunday School study.

50 People Every Christian Should Know: Learning from Spiritual Giants of the Faith, Warren W. Wiersbe, 2009, 400 pages, $17.99, softcover. A combined repackaging of Wiersbe’s Living with the Giants and Victorious Christians You Should Know. Crossway

Let Not Your Heart Be Troubled, Martyn Lloyd-Jones, 2009, 144 pages, $15.99, softcover. A collection of 8 sermons preached by the late Lloyd-Jones on John 14:1-12 in 1951. These sermons were intended to comfort, strengthen, and build up Christians in their faith and to bring unbelievers to knowledge of the only way they could face matters of life and death. They represent a careful exposition of the text and insight into recognizing and confronting our fears with the unchanging truth of the Gospel.

Eerdmans

The Three Tasks of Leadership: Worldly Wisdom for Pastoral Leaders, Eric O. Jacobsen, editor, 2009, 220 pages, $22.00, softcover. Jacobsen and the contributing writers seek to apply the “worldly wisdom” of business leader Max DePree to the challenging call presented to Church leaders. They remind pastors and leaders of the importance of servanthood without downplaying the need to actively lead.

Harvest House

The Coming of God’s Kindgom, Kay Arthur and Pete DeLacy, 2009, 117 Pages, $7.99, softcover. Part of the New Inductive Study Series, this volume is an in-depth 13 week expositional study of Matthew’s gospel written so that believers may be equipped and prepared to live in God’s coming kingdom. Arthur and DeLacy build their study around this central theme that Jesus stressed in the Sermon on the Mount, His parables, and His actions.
