Examine the Savior
Four aspects of the glorious salvation that God has given through Christ will increase the believer’s respect and thanksgiving. Hopefully, this examination will awaken the unsaved. I. The COMMITMENT of the Savior
A. What a Unique Redeemer Is Jesus! 1. The Just suffered for the unjust (1 Pet. 3:18) 2. Jesus never retaliated (1 Pet. 2:22, 23) 3. Jesus did the will of the Father (Heb. 10:7) B. What a Unique Redemption! 1. Redemption in no other religion 2. Faulty redemption in OT (Heb. 10:4) 3. Jesus brings us to God (1 Pet. 3:18) C. Jesus paid it all! There is no other way! There is no other name! II. The CONTAMINATION of the Savior (see 2 Cor. 5:21) A. Jesus bore our sins in His own body (1 Pet. 2:24) B. Jesus became a curse for us (Gal. 3:13) C. What love that He became sin for us! III. The CONSEQUENCE to the Savior A. Jesus suffered for our sins (1 Pet. 3:18; Isaiah 53 B. Jesus died for our sins (1 Pet. 3:18) C. Jesus paid it all until He could cry, "It is finished." There is no more to pay. Praise Him! IV. The COMMITMENT to the Savior A. We trust Jesus only (Rom. 3:24-28) B. We become dead to sins (1 Pet. 2:24; Rom. 6:11) C. We live unto righteousness (1 Pet. 2:24; Rom. 6:22) Conclusion: He gave so much and asks so little. Come just as you are! God alone can make you what you ought to be! |
