When Life Gets Scary

2 Chronicles 18:1-31

Introduction: One of the most difficult lessons in life is that when life gets scary and times get tough, God has a few nuggets of golden wisdom for those of us who are patient enough to look for them. Jehoshaphat was king for 25 years in Judah, from 873 to 848 BC. There was peace in the kingdom (17:10), but nevertheless Jehoshaphat found himself in a predicament. He had a few lessons to learn–and so do we. When life gets scary:

I. Relationships May Bless You or Burn You (vv.1-3).

II. Truth May Hurt Before It Helps (vv. 4-7; 12-17).

III. Deception May Come When We Least Expect It (vv. 28:31).

Conclusion: When life gets scary, trust the Father, not your feelings.
